Held in Harmony Mum and Baby Sessions

An intimate morning of restorative touch, immersive sound and deep relaxation, created for mothers who want to receive something for themselves, with their baby simply welcome beside them.

Thursday 17th September | 9.30am – 10.45am
Sound of Joo Studio, Woking, Surrey

A Space Where Mums Are Held

In Korean postpartum tradition, ‘sanhujori’ recognises that new mothers need to be actively cared for and given space to rest and recover, not simply expected to cope. The belief is simple: when a mother is held and nurtured, she is better supported to hold and nurture her baby. Held in Harmony is inspired by this same philosophy, creating a space where Mum can be cared for, while her baby is welcomed alongside her.

I'm delighted to be joined by Elizabeth from Nice to Kneaded for this special collaboration at Sound of Joo. Elizabeth brings a gentle, experienced touch to mothers in the early postpartum months, while I create a soundscape designed to support your nervous system first, and your baby's in turn. Together, we've built a session that asks nothing of you. No performing calm, no watching, no holding it together. Just space to be nurtured, exactly as you are.

What to Expect

  • A warm welcome and settling in with your baby, however they arrive: feeding, sleeping, unsettled or content

  • Gentle, restorative massage from Elizabeth to your head, neck, shoulders, hands and feet, focused entirely on you

  • An immersive soundscape with live instrumentation, designed with your nervous system as the starting point and fostering co-regulation with your baby

  • A peaceful, intimate setting with no expectations

  • Tea and nibbles afterwards, with time to sit, chat and connect with other mothers

  • A little space to ask me anything, motherhood, feeding, sleep, the lot, as a mum of four who's been through most of it

  • A small gift for you to take home, a little continuation of the care beyond the session

Not Another Baby Class

Most mother and baby offerings naturally centre around the baby: attending, participating, watching closely and keeping them content. Held in Harmony is a little different. Of course, your baby is welcomed, cared for and very much part of the experience, but for this session, the focus is on you.

Our aim is to support you to feel held and nurtured. And we’ve seen first-hand how naturally this can ripple through to your baby: when Mum relaxes, babies often begin to settle too.

If your baby is unsettled, there’s no pressure to keep them quiet or still. The session is flexible and we can help soothe your baby while you receive your massage, or you’re welcome to step outside and explore the peaceful garden with them. There is no expectation—just a gentle space where both of you can be cared for, with Mum coming first.

Who Is This For?

This is for mums with pre-crawling babies who:

  • Are in the newborn bubble and need somewhere to breathe.

  • Feel overwhelmed, exhausted or touched-out from constantly caring for everyone else.

  • Crave a peaceful, intimate space where you can relax while your baby is warmly welcomed.

  • Want to meet other mums without the pressure of a traditional baby class.

  • Would love nurturing touch, soothing sound and time to simply rest.

  • Need a little reminder that you deserve to be cared for too!
